Carleton College (Northfield, MN) : B.A. in Biology

I joined the Macklis lab in the summer of 2019 as a graduate student in the Molecules, Cells, and Organisms program. I am interested in the mechanisms underlying the development and diversity of neurons and their circuitry. Currently, I'm working to characterize the contribution to these processes by the local translational control in neuronal subcellular compartments.

Previously, I spent my childhood in Vietnam before going to Carleton College. After graduation, I worked as a technician in Dr. Samara Reck-Peterson's lab in UC San Diego, where I studied the regulation of microtubule-based molecular motors.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking and exploring cuisines. Classical music is also an important part of my life, and I love practicing the piano. I also enjoy frequent walks and excursions to explore new places!
